This is placeholder text, and it should be the first thing Edward rewrites. An artist statement works best when it is specific and short — what he photographs, why that subject rather than another, and what he is still trying to work out. Three paragraphs is plenty. Two is often better.

The temptation is to write about equipment and technique. Resist it. Nobody looking at a photograph cares which lens made it, and the list beside this already covers anyone who does. Write instead about attention — what he keeps returning to, what he notices that other people walk past, what a series was actually about once he had finished making it.

It is also fine to say that he is still figuring it out. He is in high school. Honest and unfinished reads far better than borrowed authority, and any teacher or admissions reader will know the difference immediately.
